Dragonflyt is another of my very early drawings (the spelling is very much intentional). I was so pleased with the way this one turned out. I was aiming for a feeling of adventure and freedom...at night, which always adds to the the excitement.

Sybel represents the yearning towards the light. She's something of an enigma and very willful. My New Age friends tell me I have some serious spiritual symbology going in this one. She more or less painted herself through several drafts, essentially the same, but with subtle and not-so-subtle refinements. Getting Sybel ready for print was a turning point for me and an incredible learning experience. I had been working exclusively for the web up to this point, and discovered that there's a whole nuther universe of possibilities for refinement in working with the enormous file sizes that you need for prints. It's fun!
